- Description
- A black and white photograph of a smartly dressed Edgar Stengel, a 17-year-old apprentice tool maker, proudly holding the trophy he won at the 1953 competition in Madrid. He was a runner up (second place.) The photograph was taken at the Spanish guesthouse where he stayed for the duration of the event. Also included is a photograph of the trophy. Given that there was scarce difference in the punctuation and performance of Mr. Stengel, the Jury requested the Organizing Committee that he and two other competitors were to be given a trophy with the subcampeón inscription.
