- The large white building in the centre of this building was the home of Fred Hill and his family, with the outbuildings to the left facing the road, the workshop of Douglas Alexander, a company set up by Fred Hill to manufacture looms and weaving equipment. The looms and weaving supplies were also sold in his retail outlet in Canterbury, the Canterbury Cathedral Craft Centre.
