Letter from Fred Hill to Harry Hamer, 14/12/1970
Subject: Withdrawal of UK funding
Copy of the typed letter sent by Fred Hill to Harry Hamer, secretary of the IVTO in Amsterdam, revealing the UK government and City and Guilds have withdrawn funding for a UK team at the IVTO competition. A general election in the UK in 1970 had seen the election of a Conservative government amid fiscal tightening.
He expresses regret at not being able to attend the IVTO meeting in January because of the cost to himself, but says he will attempt to organize a UK team for the next contest which will "depend on dedication of voluntary interests."
The letter is unsigned but comes from Hill's personal papers. - Date
