The Order of Cisneros was awarded to Fred Hill on 15 October 1963 by the government of Spain for his role in the growth of the international skills competitions which began in Spain in 1950. He was accorded the honour at a ceremony in Madrid. Hill, who was British, was the first non-Spanish citizen to receive the honour. -
