Description
A glass lantern made by the renowned Finnish glass maker Iittala which was the Albert Vidal Award in Helsinki 2005. The event name is etched on the glass. Made of clear glass, the lantern was designed by Harri Koskinen of Finland, where dark Nordic winters are alleviated by the warm glow of light.
The award was won by Singapore's Viridis Liew, who competed in the IT Network Systems Administration category. Viridis Liew is an alumna of the Nanyang Polytechnic which has a track record of producing WorldSkills competitors and winners. She went on to study for a degree in Computer Science in England, then returned to Nanyang Polytechnic to train competitors and develop software for the college.
The original piece was broken when transportation to Madrid, and replaced by a replica.
