The envelope showing a ink drawing of a lathe operator, stamp and postmark are unique to the Competition. The postmark dated 45. 11. 10. is a sketch of the venue, the Budokan Arena. The last numbers refer to the month and day the competition began. 45 is the year under the Japanese nengo system, which begins anew under each emperor. In this instance, it is the 45th year of Emperor Hirohito, also known as the Showa era.
An insert gives brief details of the event and the name of the female designer, Midori Masumi, in English and Japanese. Both the cover and insert are in mint condition. - Date
