- Description

This single sheet lists all the voluntary organisations supported by Fred Hill and which led to him being awarded a Member of the British Empire. Hill founded the UK team that took part for the first time in 1956.
The typed list includes the International Apprentice Competition, as it was often called, but is of interest because it also mentions his support for the Union of Europe, an organisation supporting greater European unity, in the 1930s. It was this organisation that passed on invitations from Spain to the 1953 competition to a number of countries, including Germany. - Date
