This boarding pass was issued to Les Woolley, the UK team member for gas welding at the 1961 contest in Duisberg, Germany.
Les was 17, from Stoke on Trent. It was the first time he had flown. He recalls the aircraft was an Airspeed Ambassador, popularly known as "Elizabethans" and operated by British European Airways until 1958. They were then sold to Dan Air who likely operated this flight as a charter from Gatwick, despite being labelled "First Class". - Date
